Velvet

I'm for sure not the only one who wants to just cover myself in velvet when it's windy and snowing outside. The velvet is a royal, the most elegant fabric for me.Without any regret (ok, maybe small...) I would swap all my clothes to the velvet ones. I wish everyone a happy new year and to find a lot of inspirations at my blog.

Holiday

odern-day Brigitte Bardot takes romantic trip to the beach. I'm thinking about song 'I'm dreaming of a white x-mas hot summer'. Damn, these pictures are pure sweetness. I love the make-up, the clothes, the colours, the hair. I want summer...

Sophisticated Carla Bruni

The current French First Lady. Previously a model and a singer. She comes from Italy but grew up in France. In the 1990s she was one of the top models. Her song was used in one of my favourite movies - (500) Days of Summer. There was a lot of rumours about her relationships and a love affairs. Before she met her present husband, French president Nicolas Sarkozy, she was dating a long list of a rock stars, a writers, a politicians, a film directors and an actors. At the moment she devotes her time between a state visits and a philanthropic work. She didn't suspend her career as a singer - she's currently working on her 4th album.
Below are Carla's pictures taken by Javier Vallhonrat in 1996. One woman, many different faces. They remind me about Tori Amos and the series of photos for her album Strange Little Girls (2001) where she shown 12 different male visions of women.

Barren Wasteland by Helena Kvarnstrom

Tell me what you see and I'll tell you who you are.
Helena Kvarnstrom is a Swedish photographer living in Canada. According to herself, she's interested in trees, water, bodies, ghosts, loneliness, stillness, secrets and hidden threats. She's a writer too, her novella and photography book, Violence, was published in 2005. Her words are the same as her photographs - honest, authentic and powerful. Below you have a black&white pictures of the nature absorbing a naked women's bodies. Still and powerful against soft and small.

You like her pictures? You might like her blog too.

There is nothing better than being in a forest or a lake.  I think maybe I am especially drawn to photographing them because I grew up with all this Swedish folklore in which forests and lakes are these kind of magical places, but also dangerous and unknown.   When I go to other places I seek out other natural environments, partially to photograph and partially just because I love being in them.

French Open

In the leading role - a beautiful Parisienne. Some of the pictures could easily come from the beginning of 20th century. Only these modern mini skirts...
Karlie Kloss was very successful in 2009 - she has appeared in almost every Vogue issue in that year. In this editorial she can be seen in couture designs next to the tennis star Gaël Monfils. Well, I've chosen only the pictures where she's alone...Before her 2007 debut at the spring Calvin Klein show in New York she was studying at Caston’s Ballet Academie. She just 18 but has already walked for top designers all over the globe and is the face of the Marc Jacobs fragrance Lola.

Zooey Deschanel in (500) Days of Summer

I've watched this film a while ago. I think that everybody who had the pleasure to watch it will agree that it was a real feast for eyes when you think about Summer Finn's clothes (played by Zooey Deschanel). I couldn't take my eyes off beautiful girly dresses in the 1950s style, vintage accessories, romantic hairstyles and Zooey's beauty. I like her private style too. I was also good to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt (as Tom Hansen). He played in my favourite tv sitcom 3rd Rock from the Sun. His role in the movie Mysterious Skin made a great impression on me. I'm really looking forward for his next roles.

Bec Winnel

I love these foggy, romantic works by Bec Winnel. She uses pencil, graphite and pastel. Everything is so soft and delicate like a dream. There are only females on her pictures and I cannot imagine a male in such form. It wouldn't be right for me. You can check out her blog here.
